As we start to enter the season of get-togethers and parties with family and friends, chances are you’ll be featured in lots of photographs. And some of them will be so good that you’ll want to post them on your social media, but others? Let’s be honest: do you love every single photograph that you’re featured in?
If you’re like most ladies, the answer is no. No one, not even supermodels, loves every single photograph that has ever been taken of them. That is why professional photographers take so many pictures of their subjects, looking for those few good images that are going to be used in the photoshoot.
Unfortunately, we usually don’t have the luxury of telling the person behind the camera to keep on taking pictures until they get that shot of us that we like. Especially if that image is one that is not flattering to the others that are in it! It’s a difficult truth that we often only get one chance to really shine in each photo snap situation, so how are you going to make sure that you always look the best that you can?
There are a few proven posing techniques that I’ve learned over the years that I have made this video about to help you, and if you ever struggle with being able to show yourself as elegantly as possible in photos, you will learn so much by watching!
Once you learn those techniques, it will really make so much difference not only in how you look in photos but also in how you feel about being photographed. I know that some ladies dislike being photographed so much that they will go to the back of a group shot or offer to take the photo to avoid being in it.
But life is full of so many social events that are happily remembered with photographs. I see my elegant ladies in my private members’ club, The A-List, showcase their fabulous dinners, outings, and friendships with beautiful photos within the club. (If making friends with like-minded ladies is interesting to you, click here to be included the next time the doors open).
So what are some things that you need to be aware of to take a perfect photo?
- lighting
- angles
- body position
- hand placement
- facial expression
You can start in the privacy of your own home and experiment with your poses with your phone’s camera until you feel like you have it down. Hence, there will be no need to miss out or feel uncomfortable including yourself in the photos of your life! It’s just practice.
And practice makes perfect!
