My top self-care tips for a stress free life

The word “self-care” alone brings thoughts of happiness and ease.

After a demanding and stressful week, we all love indulging in a little bit of ‘me-time.’

But what exactly is involved when it comes to self-care?

It is much more than just pamper nights; it should be a commitment to loving and nurturing ourselves in every aspect of life.

It also means different things to all of us, so it’s important to find the things that make you feel your best. Ask yourself if your self-care routines are filled with positivity and peace? If the answer is no, you should revisit your routines.

So whether you have a whole day to yourself or even just thirty minutes, creating a “me-time” checklist is a great way to start.

Here are some of my favorite self-care ideas and routines to get you inspired:

From The Inside Out…

Showing ourselves love and grace daily is key to focusing our minds and reducing stress for greater relaxation. Healthy media consumption, daily affirmations, meditation, and actively choosing positive thoughts are all crucial to lifetime fulfillment.

Feeling Pretty…

Give your skin some love. Run yourself a relaxing bubble bath infused with flower petals, and invest in a bottle of Le Labo shower gel or a new Olaplex hair mask. There are countless beneficial aspects to taking care of yourself. Of course, the better you look, the better you will feel, however, when you start to feel beautiful, others will begin to notice.
Taking the time to care for your appearance is a great classy habit that will make you feel refined and put together. 

Treat Yourself…

Life is too short not to treat yourself. Indulging in the finer things in life will bring about utmost bliss– and it can most definitely be through cost-effective and simple ways.
Buy/pick flowers for yourself, make a wishlist and buy yourself something from it, indulge in new skincare, or undertake some online shopping.

Activities…

Any activity that brings you joy is considered an act of self-care. What do you love to do most? Immerse yourself in a new skill, enjoy a massage, book a night at an opulent hotel, get a blowout, listen to music and dance, or just watch your favorite comfort show/movie.

For me, connecting with nature and animals grounds me, fills me with energy, and takes away all of my stress. I love horse riding and spend my spare time on that. Hobbies and activities can be a great creative outlet and make your life feel more balanced.

I have learned that if you don’t practice self-care consistently you will have to clean up, fix, and heal yourself often. Regular maintenance of self is crucial to living opulently.

Doing small things like this can help break life’s monotony and will be extremely refreshing.

Self-care isn’t only about bubble baths and luxurious spas– it’s about treating yourself with utmost care and respect.

It’s investing in yourself and treating yourself to your idea of luxury. It’s loving yourself the way you deserve to be loved.

Self-care is essential to maintaining a healthy mind, body, and spirit and it will always be relevant. If we don’t take care of ourselves, how can we be a blessing to anyone else?
