How To De-Stress After A Busy Week

You know that I advocate for taking massive action. It’s the most important step in changing your life. But, as a femininity coach, I also have to emphasize the importance of living a softer life. That means proper self-care and really taking the time to cultivate your inner wellbeing. So, in this post, I’m going to share with you my five favorite ways to de stress.

Different Ways To De Stress

Every person is unique. What I find stressful, you might find exciting, and what you find annoying, someone else might find relaxing. So, if you want to know how to de stress, it’s important to know yourself and what makes you feel good. Just because something is said to be calming, relaxing, healthy, or luxurious doesn’t mean you will find it so.

I highly suggest that you be strategic and test out the different de stress tecniques I will list below, and then adjust them to your situation and needs.

5 Healthy De Stress Tecniques

#1 – Grounding

Grounding means coming back to the here and now. You can do that by becoming more present in your body. Specific tools and materials can help here, like touching things with more sensory awareness. Ice cubes can be especially helpful if you feel anxious.

#2 – Slowing Down

Sometimes when we’re stressed and busy, we can go into overdrive. That makes it hard to relax. But deliberately slowing down, even just the way you do simple chores, will help take you from that rushing-mode to a calmer state.

#3 – Connecting To Nature

If you ask me for just one method of how to de stress after work, then this would be it. It has been my savior over the last few years as I launched my courses and expanded my business. I love to ride my horse in the countryside. Depending on where you live, you might have more or less access to nature. But even just a stroll in the park can do you good. Also, get yourself some fresh flowers from time to time.

#4 – Connecting To Others

Human beings are social creatures. We need human connection to survive and to thrive. But this is one of those de stress methods that you need to adjust to your personality. For example, if you’re an extrovert, then a party might be the perfect way to recharge. But for an introvert, crowds are draining. A tête-à-tête with a close friend would be more helpful.

#5 – Engage In A Creative Outlet

Here’s the one thing about hobbies many people get wrong: that you have to master them. You take up photography and then you find yourself spending a lot of time and money on getting better at it, not because you enjoy it, but because you think you have to improve. It then becomes another source of pressure rather than a relaxing outlet. So, choose a hobby and decide that you’ll use it only for pleasure.
